A Worcester Pub gets a new Crown

The Concept

The Crown Inn is a year-round haven, recognised for their seasonal, indulgent British food. Located in Hallow, Worcester and set in a beautiful 17th Century building it was vital that only the best be employed to action the beautiful new branding throughout the pub and restaurant.

The HNS Team loved the new branding by Spencer Swinden and couldn’t wait to get started! They began by “up-cycling” many of the old external signs by restoring and spray-painting the frames of the old signs. Shiny new aluminium composite panels were fixed to the faces of these signs. Not only did this help to reduce the costs, but it also helps the environment.

All of these were made and installed before the decorators painted over the original signwriting on the building, to ensure that the building was always named.

Manufacturing

As soon as the decorators had finished painting the exterior, the HNS Team arrived on site and began sign painting the facade. Traditional signwriting is tricky at the best of times, but throw old brickwork into the mix and it really can become challenging, especially with such a contemporary logo.

In total, three large logos were lovingly hand-painted onto the building.

The sign painting continued inside with quotes painted onto beams, room names sign painted onto doors and the odd directional sign to help guide diners around the restaurant with ease.
All of these were used to help create ambiance and work with the branding and decor.

Finally, frosted window vinyls were applied to help with brand continuity. The use of a frosted vinyl helped to keep this subtle and give an etched glass effect.
